Nina came to me for help preparing for a senior promotion.

Coaching Room Insight: The Saboteur at Play
This is what the Judge sounds like in disguise:
• “I should know how to do this already.”
• “If I were really good enough, I wouldn’t need support.”
• “Other people are managing without help – why can’t I?”
• “I can’t spend that kind of money on me.”
• “What will people think?”
• “What if it works? What if everything changes?”
These are the voices I hear from brilliant, capable, senior women.
Women who others admire.
Women who hold up entire teams, families, and organisations.
Women who never think twice about investing in others but falter when it’s time to invest in themselves.
It’s not about logic.
It’s about FEAR.
Fear of being judged.
Fear of being seen.
Fear that they’re not enough, or maybe even that they’re too much.
Golden Tip: Catch the Hesitation – and Challenge It
Next time you feel yourself pulling back from an opportunity that could genuinely help you grow, ask:
• Would I hesitate if this was for my child?
• Would I invest if this was for my team?
• If I knew for certain that this would change how I feel, lead and live… would I still be holding back?
And when you feel the resistance?
Celebrate that you’ve caught it and seen it for what it is.
That’s your judge trying to keep you safe – and small.
You get to choose differently.
